Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan. Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday but after two solid nights of watching the Perseid Meteor showers. I was a bit tired. It was spectacular, we saw it this time from the giant park outside the Felt Mansion in Saugatuck Township. Some of the meteors were like big cat scratches in the sky.
Today in West Michigan! The temperature will be close to 83 degrees, no wind hardly. The rest of the week and weekend look the same with the temps in the mid 80’s with a slight chance of rain. Things are great here in Douglas Michigan
Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, it’s yet again another great beach day, take a dip in the big lake, a walk along the lakeshore, sit by our cool pool, take one of the bikes for a leisurely ride into town and catch sandwich at Wally's Bar and Grill-the perch sandwich is awesome. Looking for something to do, here are a few suggestions...
Catch the sunset tonight, it will be around 8:50, nice living on the western edge of the eastern time zone.
Pick Blueberries at Krupa's on Blue star Highway, ($20 for 10 lbs unpicked). Their open probably til August 23.
Head to the Green Market at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, is open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, they have loads of locally grown produce, baked breads, foods & floral. Another great stop while your here.
Docent walking tour of Historic Downtown Saugatuck, Time is 2:00 p.m., starts at the information booth at Butler and Culver by the stop light.
The Putnam County Spelling Bee starts this weekend at the Mason Street Warehouse at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts.
Breakfast this morning is Cinnamon Orange French Toast, Canadian bacon, Banana Nut Bread and Oatmeal Muffin, fresh fruit salad, yogurt and granola, and of course Italian Espresso organic coffee (yes-free trade too).
