Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan. The sunset over Lake Michigan was spectacular last night.

Today in West Michigan! Completely sunny with temps in the mid 80's.

Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, it’s yet again another great beach day, take a dip in the big lake, a walk along the lakeshore, sit by our cool pool, take one of the bikes for a leisurely ride into town and catch a take away sandwich or wrap at the Boardwalk in Saugatuck-love the Vermont!. Looking for something to do, here are a few suggestions...

Catch the sunset tonight, it will be around 8:50, nice living on the western edge of the eastern time zone.

Pick Blueberries at Krupa's on Blue star Highway, ($20 for 10 lbs unpicked). Their open probably til August 23. The gold standard of blueberry picking.

Why not hit the Saugatuck Dunes State Park and take a long walk through the woods, it will be just beautiful.

Catch the Douglas Dutcher's baseball game Beery Field in downtown Douglas at 1:00 p.m. Dutchers vs. Bonnyville Millers, 2:00 p.m. Dutchers vs Mulberry Manglers, 3:00 p.m. Bonnyville Millers vs. Mulberry Manglers.

The Putnam County Spelling Bee starts this weekend at the Mason Street Warehouse at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts.

Breakfast this morning is Cinnamon Orange French Toast, Canadian bacon, Banana Nut Bread and Oatmeal Muffin, fresh fruit salad, yogurt and granola, and of course Italian Espresso organic coffee (yes-free trade too).

Don't forget to check out our calendar of events for August at

From all of us here at Sherwood Forest, have a great Day!!!
