Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan. Once again the sunset over Lake Michigan was spectacular last night and should be tonight.
Today in West Michigan! Mostly sunny with temps in the hovering in the mid 70's. Just unbelievable sleeping weather lately with the temps in the around 50, the prescription here is windows wide open, awesome!!!
Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, it’ will be a great beach day, though the water might be a wee tad cool for swimming but that doesn't mean you can't jump in, hey if you were a kid, you'd be in there. Slight wind from the noreast. A quiet day and a perfect time for a nice quiet walk along a big stretch of sandy beach.
Looking for something to do, here are a few suggestions...
Catch the sunset, it will be around 7:50.
Why not hit the Saugatuck Dunes State Park and take a long walk through the woods, it will be just beautiful.
Head to the Green Market at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, is open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, they have loads of locally grown produce, baked breads, foods & floral. Another great stop while your here.
Head to Cranes Orchards, just one of West Michigan's U-Pick Apple Orchards (they might have some peaches left), is less than 7 miles from our front door. They have 14 different varieties, such as Gala, Macintosh, Honey Crisp, Cortland, Golden Supreme, Jonagold, Empire, Jonathans, Ida Reds, Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Red Delicious, Fuji, and Braeburn. For more info, call 269-561-8651 or visit http://www.craneorchards.com And there's also Earl's U-Pick Farm--through October 15, you can pick red or gold raspberries. For more info, call 269-227-2074 or visit http://www.earlsberries.com.
Breakfast this morning is Cinnamon Orange French Toast, Canadian bacon, Zucchini Chocolate bread, fresh fruit salad, and of course Italian Espresso organic coffee (yes-free trade too).
Don't forget to check out our calendar of events for September at http://www.sherwoodforestbandb.com/news.html
From all of us here at Sherwood Forest, have a great Day!!!
