Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan. Looks like another great weekend here in the Forest!
Halloween countdown...36 days till the Great Pumpkin arises from the Pumpkin Patch.
Today in West Michigan! Temps will be in the high 60's. Cloudy, chance of rain and maybe some thunderstorms after 2:00 p.m., a really good place to watch em is Oval Beach.
Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, it's another lazy day.
Here are a few suggestions if your looking for something to do...
Head to Cranes Orchards, just one of West Michigan's U-Pick Apple Orchards (they might have some peaches left), is less than 7 miles from our front door. They have 14 different varieties, such as Gala, Macintosh, Honey Crisp, Cortland, Golden Supreme, Jonagold, Empire, Jonathans, Ida Reds, Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Red Delicious, Fuji, and Braeburn. For more info, call 269-561-8651 or visit http://www.craneorchards.com And there's also Earl's U-Pick Farm--through October 15, you can pick red or gold raspberries. For more info, call 269-227-2074 or visit http://www.earlsberries.com. You can pretty much find pumpkins everywhere now too.
There's a couple of local museums in the area, the First is the Saugatuck-douglas Historical Societies Museum, located across form Mount Baldy-this years exhibit is pretty cool-this years exhibit traces 100 years on what it's like to live in a summer beach town. Then you can head to the The Holland Museum it's located at 31 W. 10th Street in downtown Holland, an awesome place to spend a few Hours!
You can hit the Antique Mall and see all you grandparents old stuff, wander over the Lakeside Lanes in Douglas, they have 8 lanes.
Have lunch at the Butler, they have an awesome burger and a great view of the harbor, hit some stores, all the summer stuff is on sale.
Breakfast this morning is Cheese and Potato Egg bake, Chocolate Chip banana Bread, watermelon slices, and of course Italian Espresso organic coffee (yes-free trade too).
Don't forget to check out our calendar of events for September at http://www.sherwoodforestbandb.com/news.html
From all of us here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, have a great first day of Autumn day.
