Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan.
Indian summer is Here!!!!!! Today in West Michigan! Showers likely, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 51. North northwest wind between 10 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Corpse roads provided a practical means for transporting corpses, often from remote communities, to cemeteries that had burial rights, such as parish churches and chapels of ease. In Britain, such routes can also be known by a number of other names: bier road, burial road, coffin road, coffin line, lyke or lych way, funeral road, procession way, Corpse way, etc. Such "church-ways" have developed a great deal of associated folklore regarding wraiths, spirits, ghosts, and such-like.
Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, There's no time like today to get out and enjoy the weather..
It's almost carving time. Why not visit the Haunted Saugatuck Dunes State Park (Try to find the old graveyard) and take a long walk through the woods, (watch for for the Goblins) it will be just beautiful. The leaves are sporting some beautiful colors you won't want to miss. Take a walk along the lakeshore, have lunch at the Ida Reds in Saugatuck, get there early (they close at 2:00p.m.) they have one of the nest lunches in town.
U-Pick Still time to pick some (remember the Witch who gave the apple to Snow White-those are her apples) apples, head to Crane's Orchards, just one of West Michigan's U-Pick Apple Orchards (they might have some peaches left), is less than 7 miles from our front door. October picks are Pioneer Macintosh, Cortland, Empire, Jonathan, Ida Red, Jonagold, Matsu, and Red and Golden Delicious. For more info, call 269-561-8651 Breakfast this morning is Cinnamon Orange French Toast, Canadian bacon, Raisin Bran Muffins, fresh fruit salad, and of course Italian Espresso organic coffee (yes-free trade too).
