Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan. The sunset over Lake Michigan was pretty cool last night, with the crisp clean air during fall, the stars are just beautiful.
Today in West Michigan! Widespread frost before 8am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a high near 62. Last night was....... brrrrrrr, it went down to 34. Great sleeping weather, had to get up and close the window a tad, sad to say the heat came on too.
Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, with the forecast calling for rain for a few days, it might be your last chance to take a quiet hike along the lake.
Looking for something to do, here are a few suggestions...
Catch the sunset, it will be around 7:26. The time slips away fast this time of year
Catch the movie FOOD, INC at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, Sponsored by the SCA and Summertime Market. This hot documentary, comes to the SCA for a special screening! See why the New York Times says of Food, Inc., "You'll shudder, shake, and just possibly lose your genetically modified lunch". A panel of area farmers will share thier experinces, talk about why "field to table" eating is so important. 7:00 pm Goodwill donation, panel discusson following the film.
Why not hit the Saugatuck Dunes State Park and take a long walk through the woods, it will be just beautiful.
Head to Cranes Orchards, just one of West Michigan's U-Pick Apple Orchards (they might have some peaches left), is less than 7 miles from our front door. They have 14 different varieties, such as Gala, Macintosh, Honey Crisp, Cortland, Golden Supreme, Jonagold, Empire, Jonathans, Ida Reds, Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Red Delicious, Fuji, and Braeburn. For more info, call 269-561-8651 or visit http://www.craneorchards.com And there's also Earl's U-Pick Farm--through October 15, you can pick red or gold raspberries. For more info, call 269-227-2074 or visit http://www.earlsberries.com.
Breakfast this morning is Cinnamon Orange French Toast, Canadian bacon, Zucchini Chocolate bread, fresh fruit salad, and of course Italian Espresso organic coffee (yes-free trade too).
Don't forget to check out our calendar of events for October at http://www.sherwoodforestbandb.com/news.html
From all of us here at Sherwood Forest, have a great Day!!!
