Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan. No Sunset last night, but we had a beautiful continuous rain that started yesterday about dinner time. Time to bring those plants in today...
Today in West Michigan! Showers, mainly before 8am. High near 56. Breezy, with a south wind between 20 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Big time chance of rain. Great nap weather if your inclined to catch a college game on tv.
Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, with the forecast calling for rain for a few days, here's a few indoor suggestions.
You can hit the Antique Mall and see all you grandparents old stuff, wander over the Lakeside Lanes in Douglas, they have 8 lanes. Tour the keewatin (that old steamship from the 20's.
Head to the Green Market at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, is open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, they have loads of locally grown produce, baked breads, foods & floral. Another great stop while your here.
There's a couple of local museums in the area, the First is the Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Societies Museum, located across form Mount Baldy-this years exhibit is pretty cool-this years exhibit traces 100 years on what it's like to live in a summer beach town. Then you can head to the The Holland Museum it's located at 31 W. 10th Street in downtown Holland, an awesome place to spend a few Hours!
If you don't mind pickin apples in the rain or if it lets up for a moment, head to Cranes Orchards, just one of West Michigan's U-Pick Apple Orchards (they might have some peaches left), is less than 7 miles from our front door.
