Today in West Michigan! Rain, possibly mixed with snow, becoming all rain after 10am. High near 45. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, lazy day here, going around the outside of the house and checking the place over, going to rake some leaves. The local hippie that I am is then going to finish up some paperwork for his big hike to Vietnam in January, take a long walk along the Lake and breathe some great Michigan clean air.
The ancient Celts believed that on October 31 the boundary between the world and the otherworld dissolved, and the dead become dangerous for the living by causing problems such as, yes you guessed it, moving things in your kitchen refrigerator around or taking that sock out of the dryer that you swear you put in there.

Don't forget t visit the Haunted Corn maze at Cranes this weekend. Hours are from Dark to 10 p.m.
JUST SCARY ENOUGH FOR ALL AGES. The Red Barn Haunted House runs from 7 PM until 10 PM. This weekend, The Wavecrest Robotics Team is spotlighting classic Halloween characters we all know … vampires, werewolves, witches, ghosts, ghouls, goblins and monsters of all types . . . as well as some brand new scarier beasts.
Why not hit the Saugatuck Dunes State Park and take a long walk through the woods, it will be just beautiful. The leaves are sporting some beautiful colors you won't want to miss. Take a walk along the lakeshore, Have lunch at Kalico Kitchen and for desert have a piece of pie, rumored to be the best in West Michigan.
U-Pick Still time to pick some apples, head to Crane's Orchards, just one of West Michigan's U-Pick Apple Orchards (they might have some peaches left), is less than 7 miles from our front door. They have 14 different varieties, such as Gala, Macintosh, Cortland, Golden Supreme, Jonagold, Empire, Jonathans, Ida Reds, Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Red Delicious, Fuji, and Braeburn. Breakfast this morning is Potato Quiche, Banana Bran Muffins, fresh fruit salad, and of course Italian Espresso organic coffee (yes-free trade too).
