Holland Michigan, Tulip Time Festival, Klompen Dancing

You won't want to miss Holland Michigan's Tulip Time Festivals Klompen Dancing. Time is 7:00 p.m., tonight encircling Centennial Park downtown Holland. Historically the Klompers began in 1935 with high school girls dressed up in traditional (they still do and some boys join them now) costumes dancing the old country's (the Netherlands) folk dances (they still do).  Today accompanying the local high school kids are veteran Klompen dances which definitely add something special to the atmosphere of excitement.  Some traditional costumes were delft blue with white organdy caps and aprons. You absolutely will not want to miss any of this action. It's wacky, fun and free.

While your checking out the Tulips, please feel free to stay with us at our Saugatuck Michigan Bed and Breakfast, Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, we can help you find some great local dining and some hidden hideaways too.
