We are headed out today with David Green and Hungry Village Tours.  David explores what is special in this area with two different tours, the first is a walking tour and the second is a delicious drive. We can't wait to sample and cruise the local farms and meet the folks who are part of the farm to table movement.

Here's a brief snippet from his website at Hungry Village Tours.

A Culinary Walk
Taste, sip, and learn what makes the shops in Saugatuck and Douglas a food lover’s dream.  Each tour is limited in size so that the experience is small and intimate.  Understand what makes up the food that satisfies us. This three-hour walking tour will offer a culinary peek into the village food and village life of Saugatuck and Douglas.  This area continues to be a food producing hub on the lakeshore, expanding on the fruit farms of Gerber and the fishing village of Singapore.

A Delicious Drive
Receive an honorary culinary diploma as you experience first hand (or should we say “first mouth”) eating local. Our Delicious Drive changes with the seasons to explore what’s fresh from the farm and new at the market.  Allegan County is the Blue Ribbon Winner in crop production, number of farms, and average farm size in Michigan.  Michigan is the second most diverse agricultural state in the country.

We've teamed up with them and created a package we are sure you and your palette will love!

Sherwood Forest and Hungry Village Tours
We've teamed up with the local food movement to provide you with a couple of culinary opportunities to taste, sip, and learn what makes the shops in Saugatuck and Douglas a food lover's dream. This area continues to be a food-producing hub on the lakeshore, expanding on the fruit farms of Gerber and the fishing village of Singapore. The second one is a Delicious Drive that changes with the seasons to explore what's fresh from the farm and new at the market and includes niche farms in operation, including organic fruits and vegetables, artisan cheese producers, wineries, orchards, a bakery, and an earthenware potter. The cost ranges from $166 to $520. Available for 1-2 people or up to 10. For more info or to book this package, give us a call at 800-838-1246.
