The Lord Admiral has a thing for Blueberries, each summer after the Douglas Armada comes into port after the early summer patrol along Lake Michigan ‘s invisible water border that separates and keeps Wisconsin from invading our shores. It’s time for the annual Blueberry Cookie thank you. The Lord Admiral personally cooks up batches and batches of Blueberry Cookies and delivers them to each household in appreciation for the Village of Douglas hosting and being the home base for the fleet. This year he also hand delivered the recipe. Thanks Lord Admiral, we would reside here and keep our western shore safe, Salute You!
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 and one-half teaspoons baking soda

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, sugar, and melted butter until smooth. Whisk in vanilla extract and eggs until combined. Add flour mixture and stir until just incorporated. Use a rubber spatula to gently mix in blueberries. Cover dough with plastic wrap and let chill for at least two hours and up to overnight.
Adjust oven racks to middle and upper positions and preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Drop dough by the rounded tablespoon (big cookies) or teaspoon (regular sized cookies) onto baking sheet. Bake until golden, 13-15 minutes.
